International Artists’ Collaboration on a Silent Film, Orochi (Serpent: Japanese, 1925)

Funded by a grant from the Japan Foundation, “the Sound of Silent Film: A Two-Part Benshi Event” took place on Sunday, September 28 as the second installment of the F.I.L.M. Series at Hamilton College. This multi-faceted event featured the premier of a unique musical collaboration between international artists from Japan, France and Canada. These artists played to a packed house, with an audience that included numerous local Utica community members. The performance was filmed. This documentary video will be made available at the CJF archive in 2016.
