Nieves Awarded Second NEH for Advanced Topics Institute

The Office of Digital Humanities is happy to announce three awards from our Institutes for Advanced Topics in the Digital Humanities program from our March 2015 deadline. These awards are part of a larger slate of 212 grants just announced by the NEH.

Nieves and Jaksch Featured in the Journal for Interactive Technology and Pedagogy

Drs. Marla Jaksch (TCNJ; DHi Networked Faculty Fellow) and Angel David Nieves (DHi) are special guest editors for Issue 6 (2014) of the Journal for Interactive Technology and Pedagogy, “Intersections of Heritage, Development, Digital Technologies, & Pedagogy in Africa & the African Diaspora.”  Recent scholarship in development studies has highlighted the importance of new digital technologies as tools for furthering social justice while at the same time revealing continued economic and educational inequalities across the African Diaspora.

Nieves at Amherst: Digital Humanities as Restorative Social Justice

On Wed, Oct. 29th, DHi Co-Director Angel David Nieves will present a lecture at Amherst College titled "Digital Humanities as Restorative Social Justice: Virtual Heritage, 3D Reconstructions and South Africa’s Township Histories."  This lecture will take place at 4:30pm in Amherst's Friendly Reading Room, Frost Library.
